Ad Request API

Last updated on June 14, 2017

An ad tag is a small piece of code that defines the ad space where you want to display ads. When you place ad tags in your inventory, they send ad requests to OpenX, which sends delivery responses to serve ads. Each ad tag includes parameters describing the inventory that advertising campaigns can target. You can customize ad requests to support your particular implementation using the OpenX ad request API.

To get started, see Structured ad requests.

Note that for individual ad units ("standalone") or ad unit group requests, you can typically generate ad tags through the OpenX UI. Use JavaScript ad tags for multi-ad unit requests as well as standalone and ad unit group requests.
